Facilities at The Coach House

The Coach House is a separate building located behind the main Pilgrims Nursing Home and provides accommodation for 16 residential placements. The Coach House has its own lounge, dining/recreational areas for residents and visitors to enjoy. As with the Care Home, the Coach House has a dedicated team of carers and domestic staff who are present 24 hours a day.

Environment

The Coach House is smaller than the main home and therefore provides a greater sense of privacy. Residents are able to spend time in their rooms or in other recreational areas and can also spend time in the gardens of the home. Residents may also personalise their rooms to help them feel more at home.

Resident Privacy & Dignity

We recognise how stressful moving home can be and promote the philosophy of a 'family circle'. We will endeavour to retain privacy and dignity by providing clients with privacy, treating everyone as a valued member of the family circle and allowing them to contribute to their own care plans.

Resident Independence

We also recognise the importance for clients to retain independence and understand the issues that group living can sometimes bring. Therefore we maximise the opportunities for residents' self care, ensure they maintain links with friends & family while also giving clients the opportunity to express their views.

Entertainment

Arrangements are made to provide entertainment for the residents at Pilgrims Way. Our activity organiser spends time at both homes. The Coach House Residents like to get together to play board games and can also visit the Care Home where events or performances are held regularly.

Our Staff

As mentioned above, the Coach House has its own team of carers and domestic staff who work to ensure that residents are comfortable and happy. Our staff also work closely with families to ensure that the needs of each resident are identified and met.
